Home again. :)

Well, I'm home. =)  New York City was fun, but stressful.  I ended up hanging out by myself quite a bit of the time, so I know my way around a small area pretty well.  Our hotel was down by Chelsea and the places I'd wanted to visit were on the Upper West Side, NoHo, Brooklyn, and other spread out places.  I'd have to ride the subway a lot or a lot of taxis to get to them all and I didn't want to get lost alone in the city.  But, I made do in the area we were.  I found a cute cafe with yummy bagels and another one with great sandwiches, pasta, and some strawberry tarts that I adored. ^_^

One night we stayed at the hotel and ordered in pizza and cheesecake from a place called Patsy's Pizzeria nearby and it was to die for!
Unfortunately, our hotel was not very nice.  Our first room was dirty with a moldy shower curtain and the door didn't lock properly.  I also broke out in hives after sleeping in the bed.  We ended up switching rooms and it was a little cleaner and I made sure to take Benadryl every so many hours.  It made the trip difficult. :(  I tried to walk everywhere to save money which also led to bleeding feet after a few days, so that also made getting around tricky. :\
We made it to a Knicks game while we were there which was pretty fun. :D  It took me back to the days when Brandon and I used to play some.  ^_^
I did go shopping on Fifth Avenue.  There were a lot of stores that are nationwide chains, but I found a cute little jewelry shop and some fun tourist shops to get a couple of trinkets at. :)
I also saw a few of the sights, like Broadway and Times Square.
And the last night there we went to see the show Wicked on Broadway at the Gershwin Theater. :)  It was beautiful!  I love the music and the story.

I had gotten a pretty gray top and skirt that feel like wearing a cloud before heading out there and found a necklace and such to match at the little jewelry shop I found on 5th.  It's so fun to get dressed up. =D
So, it was a pretty fun trip. :)  I plan to go back someday and go to Cafe Lalo, Gray's Papaya, Butter, The Blue Ginger, Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Met, and Lady Liberty.  I'd rather experience those places with my Johnnybear, so it's all good. :3
My favorite moment was after seeing Wicked, walking down Broadway with clarinet and saxaphone music being played by musicians on the street corners, just soaking in the city night.  Perfect city moment.

Yay! I'm glad you had a good trip, except for a not-so-nice hotel. I get to see Wicked this summer, and i can't wait!
