The new season of Next Iron Chef America has started!!! =D And this season has an amazing group of chefs competing for the title. I seriously don't know who to root for. I know the work of all these chefs and respect them very much. Only one chef had been a little irksome to me before and that chef went home in the first episode, so that was pleasing. (I won't say who cause I want it to be a surprise for Johnny because I'm saving the episodes on the DVR for when he gets here for R&R. We always watch the show together. :D ) The contestants are: Anne Burrell, Michael Chiarello, Elizabeth Falkner, Alex Guarnaschelli, Chuck Hughes, Robert Irvine, Beau MacMillan, Spike Mendelsohn, Marcus Samuelsson, and Geoffrey Zakarian. I have soft spots for pretty much all of these chefs, so it will be a nerve-wracking season for me. But also, AWESOME! Watching it really gets my blood pumping. Iron Chef for me = Football for sports people. xD I yell at the tv and often have to get to my feet and pace a little bit while watching. I'll see a chef take a risk or make a blunder and sigh, shaking my head. Hahaha! And, of course, Alton Brown is the host of the series and, as I've said in previous posts, I love him! ^_^ So exciting!
Johnny will be here soon. There's no way to really predict when. It depends on a lot of factors and all the details need to be kept under wraps (especially on the internet) so that he and other soldiers remain safe. The wait is difficult, but I'm just happy that he'll be here. And it has only been 3 months, so it's not that big of a deal. It will be much harder when I'm waiting for him to come home in July/August of next year. o.o So, I'm just cleaning the house up and being excited and when he gets here he gets here and I'll be overjoyed about it. =)
Halloween was pretty fun! I went Trick or Treating with some friends and their kids. Their oldest is just 2 years old, so it was very cute. She was too shy to say "Trick or Treat" to strangers, but not too shy to take candy. ;) She was a princess and her baby brother was a bee while her mother was The Cat in the Hat and her dad was a ninja. I went as Strawberry Shortcake. :D I'll post pictures soon. :)
My favorite part of Halloween is just watching my favorite Halloween cartoons every year. ^_^ Charlie Brown, Garfield, Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck with his nephews, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Raggedy Ann and Andy, Rusty and Buttons... It brings back that deliciously spooky feeling I'd get as a kid on Halloween night. I love it! >:)
Extra thing about me: What is one thing you would change about yourself?
Just one? Hahaha! Just kidding. A lot of people say we should accept ourselves as we are. I agree but only to a point. I think it is good to have goals and to desire to better ourselves with time. I don't want to just be content with my mediocrities. At this time, it's no secret that my weight is what I'm focusing on changing. However, I am trying to do so through lifestyle changes, not just by dieting. I think that is the way that will help the weight to stay off. The weight went on as a side effect of medication, though, so I am doing some dieting and exercising, but I'd like to maintain a healthy lifestyle after I've lost the weight that was gained. So far I've lost 9 lbs. and am pleased with that. I feel like I'm not losing it too fast but that I am making progress. Hopefully my psychiatrist feels the same way. Due to my history of anorexia and the tendency for patients to lose weight on this new medication, he weighs me each month at my appointment. It makes me a little nervous for obvious reasons, but I feel like it is good so that we make sure I am still healthy as I try to reach my goal weight. I feel very optimistic about it! :D

I've been reading John's facebook posts and i think he likes the vagueness too much. He's trying to be a spy. You're doing good. Keep up the good work.
I love this post. You sound really happy and optimistic. I've only watched a few episodes of Next Iron Chef (during a previous season), but I agree that I would much rather watch it than a football game. :)
