Liberating :)

The new medication I switched to has been helping me to feel a lot better (after the initial couple of weeks of side effects).  I'm feeling more motivated and confident. :)  I've been driving a lot more, even to the places I was most afraid to drive to when John first left.  It's kind of silly, but I'm still proud of myself. ^_^  Everyone has their own different weird setbacks. xD
I also got my hair cut.  I wanted a change and it feels so good! :D
I got quite a bit cut off and I got some light and medium brown highlights.  Sometimes I forget how liberating it can be to cut off all that heavy hair!  I love having short hair. =)
Johnny will get to come home for his R&R (2 weeks of vacation) in November. :D  Yay!  It's a bit early in his deployment for it, but I'll take it! xD  It will be hard to make it from November to the following July with no Johnny, though. D=  *shudder*  But, I've got a lot of good books to read and a bunch of tv shows just started up. Hahaha!  I also have scrapbooking to do and such.  I still might get a job after R&R.  When we found out it was so early, I figured I might as well wait cause I highly doubt I could get 2 weeks off of work after such a short time.  The job market is also rather blah here, as well. One of my neighbors said she'd been trying to get a job for 2 years and just recently got one at last. o.o  Holy cow.
Poor Johnnybear has been working 16 hours a day for most of the time he's been in Afghanistan.  He mostly just works, eats quickly, chats with me for a little on Facebook, and sleeps. x.x  So, I will try to make his R&R as wonderful as possible.  I already have ramen in the cupboard (he loves it, go figure), triple decker double stuff neapolitan oreo cookies (I know, right???), and some Japanese candy and Pocky. ^_^  And many shows to watch together I have saved on the DVR and recipes to make for him and restaurants to go to together... But, most of all I just want him to have some happy down time with me and the kitty-babies.  Miles sulks sadly on John's side of the bed for a good while every day.  (I feel under-appreciated. >.> )  Johnny's a homebody.  We could go on a cruise or somewhere fancy, but I know he'd be happiest just chillin' at home.  Hence: we'll chillax at our pad. lol
Extra thing about me:
Who, outside of family, do you still keep in touch with regularly that has known you the longest?
That would be Jiles The Great. =D  We have been friends since kindergarten.  We did lose touch for a few years but reconnected on Facebook and I am SO GLAD that we did.  We are still so similar!  It felt wonderful to have my best friend back.  ...And then I moved. :(  We try to Skype to keep in touch and I am not as good about as I could be (I'm soooorrrrry!), but it's such a treasured friendship for me. :) Thanks, Jiles.

LOVE the haircut. It looks great on you. Have a great time with your Johnny back in town for a bit. Will you be going to UT for the holidays at all?

Thanks, Emily! :D I will not be going to Utah for the holidays, sadly. :( The cost and the thought of leaving my kitties at a kennel for Christmas just were too much for me when trying to make plans to do so. I want to visit soon. It might end up that I wait until John and I can visit together, though. I miss you, though! I wish that traveling were easier. :S
