Catching up. :)

A funny thing happened recently - Miles and I both had a kidney stone on the right side at the same time. o.o  According to one of my vets, that kind of weird coincidence happens a lot.  Miles has been doing better the last couple of weeks.  If there's any kind of stress for him, though, he gets a lot worse.  So, we're doing our best to keep things uneventful and just follow his routine.  We've started doing 75 cc of fluids twice a day now instead of 100 cc once a day and that has made a big difference.  We can tell that he feels better; it makes it so his hydration stays more even through the day. :)
I will be seeing a different specialist this week.  To see if we can train my body to work better.  So, if that doesn't work in 6-8 weeks then I'll go back to the urologist and look for something more "rare."  She mentioned looking at my spine. We'll just wait and see, I guess. x.x
Johnny and I decided to get some new furniture after he got home since we had only a couch (covered with holes) and few bookcases and one old desk and one broken desk (courtesy our movers).  So, we got a nice little set that was on sale that we will pay off over six months.  And then our washer promptly broke down like I was afraid might happen but had told myself it would probably last a little longer and jinxed it.  But, we were able to go get one (though we still haven't made it through the mountain of laundry that built up in the short time between washing machines).  Even though we got one of the simplest ones, it is much more technologically advanced and being very smug about it. :\  I'm adjusting, though.  Just slowly.  The kitties LOVE the new furniture, though, and now we have places to sit if we have someone over. =D  (We used to sit on the floor, which was fine until Zoe decide to carpet the carpet with white fur every couple of days. Haha. ;)
We had a really fun Halloween. =)  We decided to just stay home and hand out candy this year.  We weren't quite prepared for the influx from like 5 kids to 30 kids. :O  I had a box of packets of hot chocolate with mini rainbow marshmallows that I started to hand out.  What a huge hit! O.O  Little girls were squealing, "I have rainbow marshmallows!!!" and jumping about.  This made me so happy that I was high for a while.  Lol.  Halloween always makes me excited to hopefully have a child someday.  Cute little costumes, the shy inability to talk to strangers during the youngest years, as they get older the yelling of "trick or treat" at the top of their voices, the being "cool" as they become teenagers...  :)
I love this time of year.  Halloween comes with it's excitement and costumes and sugar rushes and then shortly we're to the coziness of Thanksgiving and then to the happiness of Christmas with it's ability to make the majority of strangers a little nicer. =)  (I choose to look at the upside of things, lectures about commercialism, please see a cynic.)  I'm looking forward to the next couple of months.  Even putting festive stick-ems on the windows makes me a bit giddy.  Last year I was alone at this time of year (like... a turkey tv dinner while watching Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving... it was pitiful, which I can admit now cause it's not happening now lol), so this year I'm excited enough for last time AND this time. ^_^  I'ma go start decorating. ;)

It's so good to hear how things are going for you again! I hope you and Miles both continue to feel better, and I hope this holiday season is wonderful for you!

Only in Utah will you get "trunk-or-treat". The rest of the country is normal and still goes door to door. I miss it. And if any one wants a cynic about the holidays, send 'em my way. I will cynic them to death. I'm glad you have no reason to be one!

Spyder - Thanks, honeybear. ^_^

Korrie - Thank you so much! I hope your holidays are wonderful, too! I know there will probably be a lot of stress with moving and everything, but if anyone can pull it off, it's you. You're bloomin' amazing!

Dead Poet - I did see a sign for a group of condos doing a trunk-or-treat but for the most part it seemed to be door to door this time. :) And now I see you with a little stand that says "The Cynic is IN." ;)

Hope you and Miles both get the treatments you need to feel better. ... I love the image of you giving out hot chocolate packets. How resourceful of you, and you immediately become the coolest house on the street. :)

Loved the update. And yes, mini marshmallows are ALWAYS a hit. Better watch out next year all the kids will flock to you!
